Rhinoplasty surgery is an outpatient procedure which doesn’t require an overnight hospital stay and is practiced in minor surgical clinics or hospitals
if surgery is performed, anesthetic effects totally has relieved and there is no symptoms like nausea and vomiting while eating and drinking, the patient then is allowed to be discharged from hospital and return home.
the hospital typically discharge the patients 6 hours after rhinoplasty and the patient is not in need of overnight stay
procedures are gone through in the day of surgery are as follows:
- Going to the hospital or surgical clinic and keeping the appointment for surgery offered by Dr. Gharooni’s office
- Visit the reception desk
- Applying for being admitted into hospital for surgery and following admission procedures
- Arriving on the ward
- Finalizing the admission process by nurses in the ward or surgical clinic
- Performing medical tests, if not being done already.
- Taking a rest in the ward until the surgery time
- Transference of patient to the operating theater
- Being comfortable with anesthesiologist and medical personnel in operation theatre
- Finding the vein for an intravenous injection
- Having an Injection of anesthetic
- Practicing the surgery by Dr. gharooni for almost two hours
- Beginning to regain consciousness following the surgery
- Transferring to recovery room and staying there until the patient recover consciousness which takes about one hour
- Taking the patient to the ward
- Resting in the ward for 6 hours
- Being trained to take appropriate measures at home and discharging from hospital
Remember this package of necessary measures prior to rhinoplasty:
- You must stop eating and drinking for 8 hours before the surgery. Therefore nothing including water is allowable during this period. For instance, if you have made an appointment with Dr. Gharooni for surgery at 8 A.M Saturday morning, you have to avoid having food or a drink from 12 P.M Friday night.
- You would better wear a button-front shirt on the surgery day to avoid pulling the shirt over your head.
- You must come to the hospital or clinic for surgery while you’ve previously taken a shower.
- Men are advised to shave off their face
- Fashion nails, nail polish and heavy make-up shouldn’t be worn by women to hospital
- If possible, bring a relative or friend to the hospital with you
